  Education Structure:

1. NZ qualifications are recognized & respected throughout the world. There are 8 state-funded universities & around 90 Polytechnics & Private Institutions in New Zealand. All Universities are internationally respected for their academic & research standards. There isWide range of Education Institutions & Courses.

2. Each university has its own timetable but generally the year is divided into 2 semesters of about 12 weeks each, with a 2-week break during the semester and a 6-week break in the middle of the year. The breaks are not necessarily holidays.

3. The university year begins in late February or early March and ends in October. July start date may also be available for some courses. Most of the courses are ‘full year’ courses.

4. Classes are held Monday to Friday, with libraries and some other support services open on weekends.Exams sometimes take place on a Saturday.

5.Some universities offer ‘summer school’ courses from November to February, which reduces the number of years it takes to complete a degree.

  Application Procedure:

• A Complete relevant application form with documents is to be submitted to the institution which can be done online.
• The institution will send an ‘offer of place’ letter confirming start dates and course details, and an invoice for the tuition fees.
• Pay the fees.
• The institution will send a confirmed offer of place and confirmation of payment. This is required for applying the VISA .
• Confirm the arriving date so that the accommodation can be arranged.
• International English Language Testing System (IELTS) band score of 6 with no band less than 5.5 is required.
• TOEFL score: Paper Based: total score of 575 with minimum of 4.5 in test of written English (TWE)or Computer based: total score 233 with minimum essay rating of 4.5 or Internet based: total score of 90

  Documents required for applying VISA:

1. A recent passport-size photograph.
2. Payment of a non-refundable application fee.
3. An offer of place from an educational institution, which states that you have been accepted by the institution, the name of the course, the minimum time required to complete the course, and whether a course fee must be paid or the student is exempt from the fee (e.g. scholarship students). This will be sent to you by the institution confirming your enrolment.
4. Evidence of payment of the fee or exemption from the fee (not necessary if your application is being approved in principle).
5. A written guarantee from an institution or person that suitable accommodation is available to you in New Zealand.
6. Evidence of sufficient funds to live on while you are studying.
7. A return air ticket to your country, or evidence of sufficient funds to buy one.

 Insurance requirements:

Students from all countries (except Australia and the UK) need medical insurance to cover all treatments, including doctors, hospitals, ambulance and specialist treatments. Tertiary students can see a doctor at the student health centre on their institution’s campus, for a very reasonable fee.

 Job Opportunities:

While in most countries overseas students are barred from employment, in New Zealand they can work part-time for 15 hours a week provided they enroll for full-time courses that are of 12-month duration. After completion of their studies, students are further encouraged to stay behind and work.
